2010 Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Awards
TFL confirmed as major sponsor
The Fiji Trade and Investment Bureau (FTIB) today signed a contract with Telecom Fiji Limited (TFL), confirming them as this year’s major financial sponsor of the 2010 Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Awards (EYA).
This marks the second year of TFL’s major sponsor commitment since succeeding DHL, previously being the major sponsor for 10 years.
In expressing her appreciation of TFL’s commitment to the annual event, FTIB Chief Executive Officer Annie Rogers said “we are indeed grateful for TFL’s continued support and are very much looking forward to working in conjunction with them in making this year’s EYA, which happens to be the 18th year of the Awards, surpass all expectations”.
With majority of our sponsors already pledging their support to this worthy event again this year and others vying to sponsor the remaining categories that are up for grabs, preparations are already underway to guarantee that the 2010 Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Awards will be a bigger and better event than ever before.
The introduction of a new category, the widening of the scope of another, revamp of the selection and judging criteria, review of judges and selection of some new judges are some of this year’s major developments.
The Prime Minister’s EYA is an annual event organised by the Fiji Trade and Investment Bureau (FTIB) on behalf of the Prime Minister to acknowledge and reward the achievements of Fiji’s exporters and the important role they play in the economy. The Awards rewards and profiles the best of the best businesses in exporting around the country and has significantly contributed to the development of Fiji’s exports by encouraging exporters to venture into various means of increasing exports that will boost economic performance and wealth creation in the country.
Plans are underway to officially launch this year’s EYA in Suva on 19th July, in Lautoka on the 21st July and for the first time in Labasa on the 23rd.
