2012 Investment Seminar - Press Release

To work in line with Government’s initiative of revitalizing investment performance, Investment Fiji will be conducting an Investment Seminar in the respective areas, namely:
  1. Suva – Friday 15th June, Holiday Inn
  2. Nadi – Monday 18th June, Tokatoka Resort and
  3. Savusavu – Wednesday 20th June, Daku Resort 
The Investment Seminar is intended to inform the public on the Foreign Investment Regulations and Processes, Investment Opportunities that are available in Agriculture, Tourism, Mineral and Land and other sectors. The characteristics of the seminar will be tailored to specific outcomes such as identifying investment opportunities that are available in these sectors, provide  information on available incentive schemes and focus more on information sharing. Investment Fiji has been receiving interest from a number of resources owners who have potential resources and wish to engage in a partnership for future investments.
 
Investment Fiji in collaboration with various investment approving agencies that play a key role and provide assistance to both local and foreign investors will be presented at the Seminar. Agencies that will be joining Investment Fiji will include; the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Tourism, Department of Mineral, Land Use Unit, the Fiji Revenue & Customs Authority and Ministry of Industry and Trade.
 
Investment Fiji, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Uluilakeba says that, “After the successful Export Awareness Seminar in March, we have been receiving a lot interest from the locals on the Joint Venture Scheme and the available incentives. With the huge availability of resources in Fiji, we feel that by providing readily available information and assistance we could make better use of these resources” He further added on to say that, “By having such quarterly seminars we not only aim to create awareness but also work with the locals on how they can use the available government schemes as a way forward”.
 
Investment Fiji has already received a number of interests from local potential investors to attend this workshop. Numbers are limited to around forty (40) participants in each venue, we are still accepting registrations, and interested participants can register at Investment Fiji Office in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.
 
This 2nd Quarter Investment Seminar is part of Investment Fiji’s marketing plan and is proudly presented in partnership with Australia New Zealand Bank (ANZ), Fiji Development Bank (FDB), Home Finance Company Ltd (HFC) and Max Marketing & Publishing Ltd.
