Fiji Business Council Luncheon - Press Release
Date: 07 Jun, 2012
Investment Fiji together with BSP organized a luncheon today to revisit the trade opportunities available in Papua New Guinea. With the theme “PNG-Opportunities in the Pacific’s Tiger Economy” it seemed only appropriate to call for this luncheon and look at ways of strengthening ties between the two countries.
This Event was attended by more than fifty guests and was an eye opener for the Council to see so many Fijian businesses express their trade interest with PNG Businesses. The Chief Guest at this Event, Mr. David Conn, CEO Port Moresby, Chamber of Commerce delivered a presentation on the investment opportunities available in Papua New Guinea. He provided an overview on sectors that are currently open to foreign investment. Furthermore, his presentation entailed the success of Fijian businesses currently operating in PNG.
Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ravuni Uluilakeba said that, “in view of the interest shown by our Fijian Business, Investment Fiji in consultation with the Council is planning to head a trade and investment mission to PNG later this year. He added on to say, as the Secretariat for the Council we anticipate to achieve a lot through this participation. It is quite evident that PNG has a lot to offer Fiji and rare opportunities like this should be fully utilized by those interested.
