BSP Backs Fijian Exporters in Newly Created PMIBA Award

Bank South Pacific (BSP) has announced its sponsorship of a newly introduced Award to recognise businesses taking Fijian-made products into international markets at this year’s Prime Minister’s International Business Awards (PMIBA).

The Exporter of the Year Award recognises a business demonstrating strong export performance, international competitiveness and growing market reach, while contributing to Fiji’s economy through foreign-exchange earnings and employment.

BSP Country Head Haroon Ali said the sponsorship reflects the Bank’s commitment in supporting local businesses taking Fijian capability, products and services to the world.

“We acknowledge all exporters and their tremendous efforts are worthy of recognition at the highest level.  This sponsorship demonstrates our commitment to them as they contribute to Fiji’s long-term economic resilience by earning vital foreign exchange, creating jobs and strengthening local supply chains”.

Mr. Ali said the partnership aligns with BSP’s vision of Championing Prosperity for the South Pacific and reflects a relationship with businesses that extends beyond banking transactions.

“As a bank deeply connected to communities, businesses and industries across Fiji, BSP understands the nation’s aspirations and remains attuned to the opportunities and challenges shaping its future”.

Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty welcomed BSP as sponsor of the new category.

“BSP’s support has broadened the scope of these awards to also recognise exporters delivering quality, innovation and responsible business practices, critical for global success. The Exporter of the Year Award places a timely spotlight on these businesses.”

The 2026 PMIBA theme, “Economic Transformation, Inclusive Growth”, recognise and encourage businesses contributing to Fiji’s economic development and transformation.

The PMIBA has sixteen categories and remains Fiji’s premier platform for celebrating business excellence, innovation and economic contribution. Businesses can find award information at www.iba.org.fj
