Motibhai Group is pleased to announce the development of a new, purpose-built Distribution Centre in Labasa. This modern facility will enhance operational efficiency, strengthen supply chain services across the Northern Division supporting the company’s commitment to sustainable development and contributing towards the growth of the Fijian Economy.

Key features of the new distribution centre include:

·  A warehouse exceeding 1,500 square metres, incorporating a mezzanine level, open unloading area, and a 7-metre height to support efficient storage and logistics operations.

·  A 192 square metre ground-floor office block and a 185 square metre first-floor manager’s flat, providing on-site administration and operational oversight.

·  Enhanced safety features, including a setback block wall with fire-rated doors along the eastern boundary, backup water tanks, and a new on- site fire hydrant.

·  Upgraded drainage infrastructure with stone pitching to control erosion and ensure long-term reliability and low maintenance.

·  Integration of solar energy systems, supporting Motibhai Group’s move toward more sustainable and environmentally responsible business practices.

The project’s architectural and design consultants are LHM, with Engineered Design providing geotechnical, civil, and structural engineering services, and Irwin Alsop Pacific PTE LTD delivering building services engineering. The project will be constructed by Total Infrastructure Fiji PTE Ltd, with a scheduled construction timeframe of 44 weeks.

Speaking on the development, Jinesh Patel, Executive Director of Motibhai Group, said, “This new Distribution Centre represents a major investment in the Northern Division, totaling just over FJ$8.5 million. It reflects our long-term commitment to the people of Northern Division, improving service delivery, resilient infrastructure, and sustainable environmental practices.”

Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty commended the Motibhai Group for its foresight and continued confidence in the Fijian economy. He noted that such significant capital injections are essential for transforming Labasa into a vibrant economic hub for the Northern Division.
