RB Patel Group invests $25 million in new Suva apartment development
RB Patel Group has marked the start of construction on a $25 million apartment development on Knolly Street in Suva. The seven-storey building will include two levels of parking and 21 two- to three-bedroom apartments. Construction is expected to take about 15 months.
The project is expected to create jobs during construction, with more employment and business opportunities anticipated once the building is complete. It is being built by Global Construct Pte Limited, which is undertaking its first project in Fiji.
This development is part of RB Patel Group’s wider investment in property. The company operates 12 supermarkets across Fiji and, as at 30 June 2026, its property portfolio was valued at more than $80 million. Its existing properties include Checkpoint Complex in Nadi, Harbour Point Complex and a convention centre in Lami, and apartments on Clark Street in Suva.
The Group is also developing a $20 million commercial complex on a 10-acre site in Wailevu, Macuata. The project is expected to be completed around June or July 2027. RB Patel Group has identified further development opportunities in Ba, Nadawa, Pacific Harbour and Suva. These remain at the planning stage.
Fijian Holdings Limited Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jaoji Koroi, said more than 90 per cent of RB Patel Group’s shareholder base comprises major local institutions, including the iTaukei Trust Fund, BSP Life and the Fiji National Provident Fund. This local ownership helps keep the benefits of investment in Fiji and supports local communities.
Investment Fiji recognises the contribution of businesses that invest for the long term. Developments such as these add to Fiji’s property sector, create work and support business activity in Suva and other parts of the country. Investment across different areas can also bring services and opportunities closer to communities.
Investment Fiji continues to promote opportunities across Fiji, including the Northern Division, where investment can support businesses and economic activity in regional centres.
